I am so sorry to hear about your experiences with the first dr. How are you? I hope healing is going well now, and that you will soon let us know about great progress. Yes, asking about the pros and cons I think is really crucial. Part of the issue with a serious injury, such as a first major break, is also the fear and uncertainty that can go along with the physical recovery. I would hope a good dr. could also deal with that element, pointing out possibilities rather than certainties that later have to be re-assessed (thereby causing more fear and uncertainty??). Ultimately things work out, but knowing that is very often not enough. So yes, I think at least a second opinion is essential.
