Comment : Re: OS Appt today, tomorrow week 13

Sorry about your disappointing news from the OS. No wonder you feel depressed that you still have to use a crutch for another month! I don't think you need to feel bad about having pushed yourself too hard or dispensed with the crutch too soon - if your experience was anything like mine, you'll have been given very little guidance about how much you can do or when you can do it.

Having read about the swelling around your ankle being linked with giving up the crutches too early, I wonder if the same applies to me too. During my twelfth week I started doing without the crutch, and since a couple of days before week 13 I haven't used a crutch at all. The swelling around my ankle has been there since week 6, when they took the leg cast off, and today, the start of Weeek 15,it is only fractionally less swollen and it's stiff and painful, besides.

As I don't see the OS again until Nov 24th, I'm going to try to arrange an appointment with my physiotherapist next week, so I can get her to look at it, and to ask her what I'm doing wrong. It's really getting me down too.

I also appreciate your support, and that of Maryanne and Deb...we're all in the same boat!
