Hey Sarah!! LOL. From one jellyfish to another, I can relate to that weird spastic feeling in the leg. What a pain, too, when I would bump into things. I'd get a little jolt and worry that I had harmed something ( never happened ). I found that putting an ace wrap on my leg and then the Darth boot really, really, really felt good. I was addicted to my ace wrap. If you try it, let me know if it helps.
I had read other people's diaries and they had the same problem of how to go to work. Since I did not see a personal driver appearing for me any time soon, I decided I had to teach myself how to drive with my left foot. I have an automatic, but I can drive a stickshift. I figured I was used to the clutch...I could probably figure it out. I don't know how far out you are? I tried this at 4 and a half weeks. Started slowly in a deserted parking lot, progressed to very quiet streets, graduated to highway driving. To be honest, I did take the boot off, but left the ace wrap, because it was too big behind the dashboard. I figured if I really got into a pickle, I could use my right ( broken ) foot, although I never needed to. I was also worried about how to explain a big honking boot to Mr.Policeman should we have an unscheduled run-in. I must admit, pretty scary at first, but as soon as I told myself it was liking driving a stickshift I was okay. Good luck to you, and thanks so much for keeping a smile on my face! Let me know how things are going for you!:)
