Mike_M : My Story
Diary entry posted Mon 12:39am 15 June 2009

I was playing baseball last thursday night. I went to catch a fly ball and when I went to run I heard and felt a "SNAP." After falling to the ground, I tried to get up and fell again in agonizing pain. I hobbled off of the field and laid down for a second pondering the possibities of what I could have done. After the game was over my girlfriend and I dropped off one of my friends at my house and went to the emergency room. Suprisingly I was seen in less then an hour. I was put into a room and then x-rayed. About a half hour later the doctor came in and said "we have a problem." I could only assume he meant the worst. And I was right. He said that I had broken my tibial plateau and needed immediate surgery. I was admitted to a room and kept for three days. They performed my suregery friday night at 6pm. 6 screws and 2 metal plates later i was finally released on saturday night. Now I am puzzled with the thoughts on how this happened with such minor force. I was only running. I just dont know.
