Sarah,

Good News! The first 2-3 weeks are the worst, so it should be getting better soon.

I wouldn't take it personally if you're friends have wandered. I think it must be an age thing! If I had broken my ankle 16 years ago I would have probably been very lonely indeed. So, the next best thing to do is to contact you're local church whether you're a member or not. All churches hae wonderful, giving people in them that are thrilled to help. My 15 year old daughter is a member of a church (I'm not), and the ladies brought me frozen meals, reading material, a nice blanket, etc. They are also helping my daughter get to drivers' training. If I needed them to, they would take me to the doctor, store etc. You never know what kind of nice people you could bring into your life until you call! They need you as much as you need them, so don't be afraid to ask!

I've been very fortunate with depression-only 2 or 3 bad days, so I can't help much there, but check the TIPS section! Also, read peoples' diaries! A lot of people are in a lot worse shape than me so I couldn't have too much of a pity party! It also helped me to think about the Special Ed kids I used to drive to school who would have to deal with their afflictions for the rest of their lives. They were usually very happy and upbeat too! INSPIRING!

Good Luck!!

Annette
